Rockwell Automation is hiring!
We are looking for a Senior Project Engineer to join us in our Sydney office.
Position Summary
Responsible for project technical solution and delivery of drive control systems through the planning, design, implementation, testing and commissioning phases. Works with project managers on planning, delivering assigned projects on time, budget and scope.
On specific projects, may be required to supervise a team of engineers in the execution of project delivery, which includes design, implementation, testing and customer-site commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
Overview
Technical and project engineering responsibility for projects
Design, implement, test and commission drive system projects
Work with RA remote engineering team to supervise remote implementation of system components
Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial plants, etc.
May be required to work on project cost estimates and review proposals prepared by Proposal Team
Functional
Provides updates to project manager and Engineering Team Leader pertaining to status of activities, KPI's.
Develops technical standards and procedures within the project context
Grow and develop into a thought leader within the organisation
Contributes to project review process and gives technical guidance on project related matters.
May be required to work on project cost estimates and proposals
Interpersonal
May serve as the primary interface with the customer for assigned projects
Supports an environment conducive to successful team interaction
Works well under pressure
Leadership
Depending on project complexity, may be required to lead a team comprising of engineering staff of various levels of experience and responsibility
Coaches and mentors junior engineers
Business
Work with supervisor to lead technical execution for complex projects
Responsible for meeting project schedule, engineering hour budgets, and customer satisfaction targets
Builds partnerships at a technical level of key customers.
Must be commercially aware of the business impact of selecting and delivering the project design and deliverables
May present and develop technical aspects of sales proposals to customers.
Responsible for following all applicable corporate, company, governmental and regulatory policies and procedures as appropriate for this position.
Others
Ensure compliance to Ethics, Standards of Business Conduct, Safety, Information Technology and other RA policies and the relevant government regulations in the geography.
Any other relevant duties as assigned by immediate Manager

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
NER and/or RPEQ registration is advantageous
REQUIRED INDUSTRY AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Typically 5 to 10 years' experience in Variable Drive System and Automation projects, which includes designing, consulting, implementing and commissioning.
Typically possesses broad application/technical knowledge relevant to assigned business team
Must have a good understanding of industrial drive systems (preferably Rockwell Automation solutions),
Heavy industry experience is preferable - Mining, Metals, Pulp &
Paper, Materials Handling
Experience working in complex/EPC environments advantageous
Must be able to effectively work in a multi-disciplinary team
Experience with MS Office software products Excel, Word, Project, Visio, etc, Autocad
Annual Base Salary Range:
AUD 100,000 - 130,000
