About the role

This role will establish, lead and manage an internal and corporate communications function for Standards Australia to enhance the employee and internal stakeholder experience, align people to the organisation's vision and strategy, support leaders and manage an effective mix of employee and stakeholder communication channels.
This role also plays a critical part in enabling the organisation to deliver its strategy, achieve its goals, enable transformation and effectively manage change across the business for employees and key stakeholders
What you'll do

  • Working closely with internal stakeholders such as the external communications team, Human Resources (HR), Information Technology (IT), Design and Voice of the Customer (VoC)
  • Establish and manage an effective mix of digital internal communication channels
  • Provide strategic communication, support, counsel and advice to the CEO, Board and Executives (including speechwriting, communication plans and copywriting as needed)
  • Develop, implement and measure internal communication strategies and campaigns
  • Communicate the SA strategy to internal stakeholders in engaging, informative and compelling ways to drive successful implementation and performance
  • Support the cultural transformation with communication that drives desired attitudes, behaviours and performance
  • Support key changes with change communication plans and implementation
  • Develop and deliver a robust crisis communications plan and framework
  • Educate leaders and managers on how to communicate effectively
  • Establish the right frameworks, policies, processes and governance for an effective internal and corporate communications function
  • Leverage the employee data and insights and serve as a voice of employee and stakeholder to the business
  • Report back on the success and return on investment of communication activities and channel usage

About you

  • 10+ years experience in communication or similar roles (min 5 years in internal or corporate communication roles)
  • Communications degree or equivalent
  • Understanding of digital employee experience and channel management
  • Excellent written, visual, audio and non-verbal communication skills
  • Story-telling and corporate narrative
  • Crisis management
  • Change management
  • Strategic thinking and strategy development
  • Ability to develop, implement and measure communications plans and campaigns
