What do I need?

We are currently looking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced Release Manager to join the team. This position will provide functional leadership and assist the business in the day to day management of their business readiness activities. This person will help lead and manage business implementation activities that deliver end to end technology solutions across Consumer &
Business Banking Customer Engagement Delivery portfolio.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Development of deliverables including (but not limited to) Implementation Plan, Communications Plan, Runsheet, PIV/PIV plan and Handover documents liaising with Project Managers, Change Manager and Business Stakeholders
  • Manage Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies and Decisions as they relate to each implementation liaising with Technology Lead
  • Agree and implement solutions liaising with IT Program Manager and manage post IAT testing
  • Manage overall release management activities across the portfolio, and coorindation with the Group Technology partners and business implementation team, including weekend work
  • Management post implementation activities (partner with Project Managers) such as warrany, PIR etc.
  • Develop and manage effective relationships with key stakeholders within the Technology Team, business, with other parts of the project team supporting delivery and with third party providers
  • Manage minor and major releases in terms of preparing for the release (organising estimates, communicating cost and solution to the requestor, seeking approvals, setting up prioritisation sessions with Business owners, release execution (managing the schedule, communications to IT and Business project teams in regards to dates and status, managing CRs, working with IT teams to ensure the release is not delayed), preparing for implementation and managing the PIV windows

Please note:

The candidate must be flexible and prepared to work outside the standard office working hours (including weekends) to manage the implementation activities (frequency is subject to the release milestones defined as part of the project implementation plan). Time-in-lieu can be arranged to compensate the weekend work through discussion and agreement with the People Leader

What do I need?

The successful candidate will have:

  • Release management experience - 3 to 5 years + in a complex working environment
  • Proven track record in successfully leading and managing medium/large projects with many of the following characteristics:
    • Project duration over 6 months
    • Teams typically over 10 resources
    • Project Impact:
      Medium - Large
    • Project Risk:
      Medium - Large
    • Multiple business areas affected
  • Management of diverse stakeholder expectations, across different business divisions
  • 5 + years experience in a relevant role within projects and/or delivery of business solutions
  • 3+ years experience in the financial services industry
  • Demonstrated ability to understand complex technology landscape and eco-systems at the enterprise level
  • Demonstrated experience in Regulatory and/or Compliance projects.
  • A strong understanding of technology and business systems strategically and operationally
