The role:

Reporting to the General Manager, Procurement, you will ensure Sunwater's procurement practices align with Queensland State Government policies and associated legislation and establish, lead and maintain a strategic whole of business focus on contemporary end-to-end procurement systems, spend analytics, continuous improvement practices and functional capability uplift. As the lead subject matter expert for Sunwater's Procurement Improvement Program, you will design, build and maintain a structured internal Procurement governance framework, including controls, monitoring, reporting and escalation mechanisms. This role is critical to ensuring Sunwater's procurement function achieves its vision of 'Buying better together'.

You will bring:

We are seeking an experienced professional with demonstrated technical skills in procurement governance and performance. You will help set key performance targets, contribute effectively to team activities to enhance commercial performance, and develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders and suppliers to achieve organisational objectives. You will bring thought leadership to the role to drive a continuous improvement philosophy and sustainable business environment and role model and coach Procurement team members. In addition, you will have:
-

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field:
    procurement, business, commerce, law or supply chain
  • 3 + years' experience in a similar role or in a senior leadership capacity as a Category Specialist / Procurement Specialist / Lead or similar, particularly in relation to procurement governance
  • Experience developing and executing procurement reporting &
    analytical strategies
  • Experience leading a team
  • Experience using SAP or equivalent financial systems
  • Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) Certification (highly desirable)
