About the role:

The Education Platform Development Unit is responsible for providing specialist technical capabilities and to coordinate and deliver advanced simulation learning products for People Development Command. The unit is also responsible for the management and development of the organisations Learning Management System and works with clients to promote and create emerging technologies to support training and education within PDC.

Reporting to the Unit Manager, you will work closely with stakeholders and colleagues to build and manage training programs within the existing learning platforms and environments. This will include building digital and simulated / immersive learning content packages, management and oversight of the Linked In platform and assisting with managing the Victoria Police Learning Hub (our Learning Management System).

This is a multi-functional role in a small but busy unit so the ability to prioritise and work collaboratively with the team is essential.

Your duties will include:

  • Creation of immersive learning training in specialised software
  • Oversight and management of the organisations Linked In Learning system.
  • Work with a team to deliver of a range of technical solutions to enable the distribution and support of educational content and information.
  • Develop master pages and templates and/or utilise existing standardised and suitable templates to ensure uniformity and branding throughout product interface and a positive user experience
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of contemporary learning technologies and learner engagement approaches and emerging trends to support continuous improvement of learning solutions
  • Carry out quality control of resources and technologies, review feedback and perform evaluations to assess user experience and functionality.
  • Manage personal performance, and professional development
  • Prepare high quality and comprehensive briefs, written reports and correspondence articulating trends, opportunities and risks associated with a planned course of action
  • Conduct research and analysis through user and client feedback to enable continuous improvement relating to the functionality of existing delivery platforms and the content
  • Providing input into projects, research and investigate requests for system enhancements or improvements.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Demonstrated ability to work to project deadlines with competing priorities to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Attention to detail with active participation in quality assurance and contribution to the continuous improvement lifecycle.
  • Professional attitude with well-developed communication, interpersonal and consultation skills with a demonstrated capacity to work effectively, autonomously as well as collaboratively and productively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, as well as knowledge and experience in learning design.
  • Demonstrated ability to work to project deadlines with competing priorities to ensure on-time delivery of scoped deliverables
  • Demonstrated high-level understanding of Totara Learn or compatible LMS environment;
  • Demonstrated understanding of Linked In Learning
  • Demonstrated understanding of Microsoft Endpoint Manager is desirable but not required
  • A creative approach and an ability to think outside of the box

  • This position is located at Victoria Police Academy, 1 View Mount Road, Glen Waverley.
