About the Branch/Business Unit
The Stormwater Management Authority (SMA) is a statutory Authorityestablished under Schedule 1A of the Local Government Act 1999 andhas responsibility for driving stormwater management planning andthe implementation of associated infrastructure by the localgovernment sector. It also has a key role in ensuring a strategicand aligned approach to stormwater management across State andlocal government with the provision of funding in support of itsstrategic objectives.

About the Role:

The Senior Technical Advisor/Technical Advisor, StormwaterManagement Authority (SMA) is responsible for providingprofessional engineering expertise and leadership on complexstormwater management works and projects subsidised or led by theSMA.

The incumbent will apply significant professional judgement andexpertise when engaging with local Government to ensure thetechnical veracity and robustness of hydrologic and hydraulicmodelling, plans and engineering and policy documentation. The Senior Technical Advisor/Technical Advisor will providehigh quality written advice to the SMA Board, Executives and theMinister and represent the interests of the SMA on committees andworking groups for programs of significant importance.

A key component of the role is the ability to successfullydevelop genuine strong networks and relationships and leadcollaboration with partners to deliver successful projects in atimely manner.

About you:

To be successful in the role, you will have a deep demonstratedknowledge of contemporary flood modelling/hydraulic design methodsand tools, demonstrated knowledge of contemporary water sensitiveurban design practices and significant experience in successfullymanaging complex projects involving local government and communitystakeholders.

Contract:

Ongoing contract.

The SMA is recruiting for a Technical Advisor at the PO3 or PO4level. Candidates will need to indicate the specific classificationlevel they wish to be considered for in their application.

Essential Qualifications:

Degree level qualification in Engineering is essential.

Post graduate qualifications related to stormwater, floodmanagement or water sensitive urban design are desirable.

Special Conditions:

- May be required to participate in firemanagement and associated duties.

driver'slicence and willingness to drive is essential.
- Out of hours work may be required.
- Interstate and intrastate travel requiringovernight absences may be required.

Remuneration:

PO3 - $99,788 min - $105,495 max p.A.
PO4 - $109,060 min - $118,690 max p.A.
