Software Engineering Manager

Onlife is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Software Engineering Manager to lead our exceptional team of software engineers and drive the success of our cutting-edge spatial app.

As a Software Engineering Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping the technical direction and strategy of our platform. You will be responsible for managing and mentoring a team of talented engineers, overseeing project timelines and deliverables, and ensuring the successful execution of software development initiatives. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and product managers to align engineering efforts with business goals and customer requirements.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• • Lead and motivate a team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative, high-growth, and inclusive work environment.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones and timelines are met.
  • Manage the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including sprint planning, code reviews, deployments, and issue resolution.
  • Drive the development of the Onlife app:
    identify opportunities for improvement and innovation, and help to prioritise and plan product features and enhancements.
  • Ensure that development processes and tools meet industry standards and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including third-party vendors and partners, to ensure projects are aligned with their needs and goals.
  • Help to recruit and onboard new team members, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve the team's workflows and processes to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Working with the team to provide effort and budget estimates.
  • Orchestrating work across multiple development teams.
  • Planning and executing delivery plans on-time and within budget.
  • Working with cross-functional team to design viable and deliverable products.

• Proven experience as a Software Engineering Manager or similar leadership role, managing delivery and mentoring a team of software engineers.
• Strong technical background in software development, preferably with experience in Python and Flutter and other relevant technologies.
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to drive technical initiatives and make strategic decisions to achieve business objectives.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing priorities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and senior management.
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions on time and within budget.
• Previous experience in the development of complex software applications and platforms.
• Experience using post-agile methodologies desirable
