In Australia, SS&
C is predominately located in Melbourne and Sydney and has 600+ employees. Most of the Australian division are working on Unit Registry (referred to as Transfer Agency around the world) technology and services. SS&
C Managed Funds Administration (MFA) is the largest provider of Unit Registry services in Australia, providing Fund Manager, Custodians and end to end service offering.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer who has a background in DevOps and software engineering to join our Technology team in the Managed Funds Administration business. You will work alongside software engineers to operate and uplift our inhouse unit registry software supporting a dynamic and fast paced business.
Your role will be diverse and include supporting production, improving the supportability of the existing environment and contributing to our containerisation journey as we uplift legacy systems to a microservices architecture. You will help to build out and embed modern DevOps practices such as infrastructure-as-code (IAC), deployment pipeline automation, observability with metrics, alerting, log aggregation and APM. You will work in a highly collaborative environment embedded in engineering teams and working with other technology teams across SS&
C.

You are a pragmatic problem solver
Technical Skills
Strong Windows and Linux admin experience
Expertise with AWS cloud infra and networking including EC2, ECS, ALB, VPC, Route53 etc)
Familiarity with Kubernetes a plus
Strong skills in infrastructure-as-code development (e.G. Terraform and/or Ansible) and specific experience with cloud IAC.
Strong containerisation knowledge using Docker
Experienced in CI/CD tools
Strong scripting skills e.G. PowerShell, bash
Experience with log aggregation and APM tools such as Datadog
Experienced working across software, security, networking and system support teams to help establish/uplift practices with a focus on automation and observability
Experience working with uplifting legacy systems to modern tools and practices.
Familiarity with security and compliance needs in a financial services setting
