The Opportunity

We are seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our established and dynamic team, where growth opportunities abound. As an integral member, you'll delve into hands-on development, shaping technical design and architecture. Here's what you'll do:

  • Enhance and expand our scalable cloud platform, empowering the storage, processing, and retrieval of vast datasets like point clouds and imagery on a massive scale.
  • Craft software within an AWS Cloud environment, leveraging cutting-edge technologies.
  • Collaborate closely with our data scientists to deploy algorithms and implement machine learning solutions at scale.
  • Uphold the integrity and ensure high availability of our platform and services.
  • Guide and mentor junior team members to foster growth and excellence.

About You

As someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced, and equally collaborative environment, your excellent communication skills mixed with your hunger for continual learning will help you succeed in this impactful role.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has 5-10+ years of commercial software engineering experience, demonstrating your proficiency.
  • Showcase your expertise in developing solutions on AWS, displaying your adeptness in cloud technologies.
  • Possess an engineering mindset driven by a passion for constructing robust and scalable software solutions.
  • Be comfortable with mathematical concepts, including 3D geometry, contributing to innovative solutions.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in languages like C++, Python, or Java, showcasing your versatility.

Extra things we value:

  • Practical knowledge of algorithmic complexity, data structures, and methods to optimize data access, including spatial indexing.
  • Experience scaling workloads horizontally, whether in cloud environments or High-Performance Computing (HPC) settings.
  • Show interest in low-level/embedded programming, data formats, and related areas.
  • Working knowledge of GIS concepts, contributing to our geospatial solutions.
  • Experience with sensors, sensor data, or geo-positioning, enriching our understanding of data sources.
  • Background in scientific computing, utilizing tools like Julia, Python, MATLAB, R, C++, etc.
  • A Master's or PhD in a technical discipline or equivalent experience, demonstrating depth of expertise.
