The Fraud Technology team is part of the Group Security BU and is accountable for the development, implementation and ongoing leadership of the Group's Fraud technology platform fighting against fraudulent and scamming activities.
Our purpose is to support our Group's business, Group Fraud Management Services in providing world class fraud prevention and detection to safeguard CBA and our customers. Some of the technologies we use include Ab Initio, SAS, Pega Case Management, Oracle and Java.
As a Senior Software Engineer who specialises in Ab Initio, you'll be responsible for end-to-end engineering including software design, development, and implementation of strategic solutions across the enterprise. You'll be challenged with solving our customers most complex data-centric problems, building data products from scratch, integration large sets of data from hundreds of sources.
We support our people with the flexibility to balance where work is done with at least half your time each month connecting in office. We also have many other flexible working options available including changing start and finish times, part-time arrangements and job share to name a few.
We're interested in hearing from people who

• Have experience in hands-on data processing work and have exposure with complex data systems with multiple layers of integration using enterprise grade tools such as Ab Initio.
• Are confident in building group data products from scratch, by integrating large sets of data derived from hundreds of internal and external sources.
• Have Database exposures, such as database query tuning, optimization, large volume load/unload/join, etc.
• Have back-end development experience involving large volume of data between systems.
• Show a hunger to beat the fraudsters and scammers by solving relevant problems in a high volume, tight latency context with smart solutions.
• Most importantly:
  be a self-starter;
  eager to learn new things;
  inquisitive to dig deepto find the root causes of problems.

Skills
We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don't expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team;

• Seasonal experience in development in Ab Initio including batch graphs as a minimum and ideally on continuous flows as well.
• Existing backend coding expertise in Java and Python is a plus.
• ANSI SQL working with at least one of the RDBMS including Oracle, Teradata, PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Scripting languages:
  Bash, KSH or Python.
• Linux environments.
• Realtime Streaming technologies such as:
  Apache Kafka, IBM MQ, raw TCP/IP socket and RESTful services.
