regulatory Frameworks are properly embedded with appropriate training and education.

What Does An Average Day Look Like?

No day isaverageathummbut here's an idea of what you can expect to do in this role:

  • Take on the accountability for all transactional and project based legal, governance and compliance requirements for the relevant internal hummgroup Business Units that the role supports
  • Responsible in the ongoing embedding and management of the hummgroup legal and regulatory risk management process acrossthe group.
  • Directly support the Chief Legal &
    Commercial Officer and other material project based and discrete activities in support of the hummgroup strategic framework.
  • Deep knowledge of the Australian consumer credit and privacy regimes, with experience in supporting businesses manage and deliver compliant products, initiatives, and other projects
  • Provide high quality technical legal, governance and compliance advice and assistance across all levels of an organisation (Executive Team and broader organisation) which takes into account relevant commercial objectives
  • Develop, initiate, maintain and revise core policies and procedures to ensure the effective operation of the hummgroup legal risk management and compliance Frameworks and all associated activities

  • Ability to pro-actively track the external legislative and regulatory environment, codes of practice and other requirements relevant and necessary to ensure that the hummgroup remains compliant and is able to "
    Early identify"
    regulatory focus areas and to pro-actively respond to relevant legislative or regulatory changes or risk issues
  • Capability to manage complex investigations, including in respect of actual or suspected violations of legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures with limited supervision
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to draft with limited supervision, complex regulatory submissions and responses and all other relevant internal and external communications and correspondences
  • Strong leadership capabilities and a demonstrated ability to operate independently and autonomously across a wide range of projects and activities and to influence stakeholders to ensure that the hummgroup legal risk management and hummgroup Compliance Framework is recognised within such projects and activities
  • LLB or another equivalent legal accreditation
  • 5+ years' post-admission experience in a relevant financial services compliance environment (including private practice coupled with some in-house / secondment experience)
