We are seeking a Senior Health Partner to join Health, Safety and Environment, Student Services and Wellbeing, Administrative Division.

The Senior Health Partner will exercise clinical skills and judgement in providing professional guidance to managers, staff and occasionally students or other persons associated with the University relating to the interpretation, application and integration of post-injury management principles, strategies and legislation. The preferred outcome will be an early and safe return to work for injured/ill staff, with minimal disruption to the work area and the minimisation of risk to and within the University.The rehabilitation function is for WorkCover cases and is extended to a prevention and early intervention focus for non-WorkCover rehabilitation and health management cases. The position will also work in collaboration with the Human Resources Department (HR) on other related matters affecting the health and wellbeing of staff members.

What you need to succeed

1. Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications in a health-related profession (e.G. occupational therapy, physiotherapy, nursing) in conjunction with extensive experience in a senior rehabilitation case management role within a large organisation.
2. Extensive knowledge, and experience in interpreting and applying such knowledge, of the Queensland Workers' Compensation and Rehabilitation Act &
Regulation 2003;
Common Law as it relates to workplace injury cases;
and Commonwealth and State legislation relating to privacy, disability and other relevant matters.
3. Demonstrated ability to contribute to the development and implementation of effective programs, systems and procedures for post-injury management and rehabilitation, as well as claim reviews and appeals.
4. Demonstrated record of success in managing complex cases and exercising sound clinical judgement related to injured or ill persons, including the provision of specialist advice on ergonomics and psychological parameters, to achieve positive outcomes.
5. Demonstrated high level interpersonal, presentation, negotiation and verbal communication skills to liaise with management and staff at all levels on complex, emotional, or controversial issues.
6. Proven ability to effectively manage projects while achieving performance targets of scope, time and cost with a high quality outcome.
