The Job:

HOYTS are on the lookout for a Senior Group Accountant to join us in our Sydney CBD office. Reporting directly to the Financial Director - Corporate, this role will be integral in ensuring that all statutory and fiduciary obligations of the HOYTS Group are met in the areas of reporting and tax. This role will also participate in the Hoyts treasury function. This role will also facilitate the consolidation of the monthly results and prepare the relevant reports back to the Board including year end reporting and the preparation of the Groups consolidated results and Australia and New Zealand. This corporate role will also help facilitate and document internal control processes and other policies within the organisation. Other key responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting to Owners
  • Review and consolidate divisional weekly and monthly P+L and cash-flow reports and prepare consolidated report for reporting to CEO, CFO and Board
  • Prepare quarterly IASs and monthly BAS for holdcos
  • Assist with the preparation of corporate journals (eg tax, interest, swaps, specific provisions, elimination entries) and reconciliations
  • Assist in management of cash flow and cost reduction initiatives to maximise interest income
  • Prepare and manage the Corporate P+L

Who we are looking for:

You will be focused, hardworking, agile and motivated to perform under pressure. You'll also be passionate about exploring opportunities to build the HOYTS community and continually search for improvements and solutions to existing challenges. We're also looking for someone with:

  • CA / CPA or Equivalent
  • Undergraduate Degree
  • Minimum 2 - 5 years in a Corporate Accounting role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Systems Experience Desirable - SUN
  • Expertise in prioritising goals, delivering key outcomes
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills to meet deadlines
  • Experience in building and sustaining positive relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Excellent high attention to detail
