About the Role.

The Senior Finance Business Partner is an integral position within the Finance Business Partnering function of the Finance Division responsible for providing effective and efficient financial business partnering services to internal clients. These services include financial budget and forecast development, actual financial performance monitoring, analysis and reporting, and project/program financial management.

The position requires the incumbent to effectively lead and manage employees in the provision of finance business partnering services. Further, the incumbent will be required to provide expert advice and guidance to internal clients, apply well developed engagement skills, creative and advanced problem-solving skills and specialized financial management skills in the provision of financial business partnering services to assist internal clients in their decision making and business performance.

As the Senior Finance Business Partner, you will lead and develop employees, provide high-quality financial business partnering services aligned with organizational strategies and policies. Additionally, you will provide expert advice and maintain integrity in financial information to support client decision-making and business outcomes, while fostering strong internal relationships through advanced engagement and communication skills. Finally, you will utilize creative problem-solving and specialized financial management to improve frameworks, ensure compliance with financial regulations and support departmental financial strategy and priorities.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Extensive knowledge and demonstrated successful experience in providing finance business partnering services to internal clients.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, and experience in developing and maintaining strategic working relationships and working collaboratively with internal clients in the provision of financial business partnering services.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage employees in providing financial business partnering services.
  • High level analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills to interpret and report financial information to support internal client decision making and business performance.
  • Experience in proactively identifying, recommending and implementing opportunities for continuous improvements relating to financial business partnering activities and services provided to internal clients.
  • Experience in a hands on approach to the coordination and preparation of reports and other explanatory material for consideration by internal clients.

QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant or a related discipline.
  • Relevant Finance or Accounting degree which includes all foundation requirements for entry into CPA Program
  • Membership of CPA or CA
