A bit about the role

As a Senior Finance Business Partner Capital Works, you will provide strategic financial management advice and support to the Management Accounting function, Financial Reporting and Analysis (FR&
A) and Finance Business Partnering Team, to ensure the integrity of financial management systems and sustainable finances.

You will support a range of complex capital related financial management activities aligned to business needs including budgeting, planning, modelling, forecasting, financial analysis, reporting, income recognition and performance monitoring in accordance with Council, policies, procedures, and strategic priorities.

What you'll deliver

  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with Project Managers and Business Units to provide a customer-focused finance service with innovative solutions and improved practices.
  • Provide analysis and advice to support development of the Council Capital Works Program.
  • Provide authoritative advice on the funding sources available to deliver capital works including reserves and external grants.
  • Monitor delivery of the Council Capital Works Program and provide all relevant monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting in a timely manner.
  • Support the development of long-term financial planning process that consider the future infrastructure requirements of Council and enhance Council's understanding of financial risks and ongoing financial sustainability.

What you'll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting, commerce, economy or business along with significant experience in a similar role.
  • Additional post graduate qualifications or specialisation may be an advantage.
  • High level interpersonal skills, ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines working collaboratively to complete team deliverables.
  • Experience in ERP Finance systems, exposure to Data Analytics, Technology One Finance system experience including XL one reporting will be highly regarded.
  • Exceptional business and commercial acumen.
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check and Eligibility to Work check.
  • A curious, collaborative, and inclusive community mindset.
