Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Civil Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing various civil engineering projects, ensuring they meet both technical specifications and client requirements. This role requires a strong background in civil engineering principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed civil engineering designs for various projects across land development projects
- Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Conduct site investigations and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings, and other).
- Utilize CAD software and other engineering tools to create and modify design plans.
- Coordinate with project managers, architects, and other engineering disciplines to ensure project objectives are met.
- Ensure designs comply with all relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Perform calculations for loads, pressures, and stresses to ensure the safety and stability of structures.
- Prepare cost estimates and project schedules.
- Oversee construction activities and provide technical guidance to ensure adherence to design specifications.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations to discuss project progress and address any concerns.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- CPEng highly favoured
- 5+ years of experience in civil design engineering.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant design software.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with stormwater management and hydraulic modeling.
- Experienced in land development, and subdivision projects
- Knowledge of project management principles and practices.
