State Intelligence &
Command Portfolio is the information and intelligence management arm of the WA Police Force, providing for the collection, collation, analysis and dissemination of information and intelligence to support frontline officers. Functions include Data Science &
Analytics, IntelligenceServices, Forensic Division, State Communications Division and State Operations &
Command.

This position will be working to deliver several critical projects that are currently in-flight or about to commence. Some of these projects are as follows:
* *State Communications Enhancement*:
* Your role would involve delivering projects that enhance its capabilities.
* This would include 000, 131 444 &
developing decision making frameworks
* Improving telephony systems
* Enhancements to applications that support call taking
* *Forensics Modernisation*:
* Forensics plays a crucial role in criminal investigations and legal proceedings. Your work would focus on delivering projects that enhance its capabilities to modernising forensic techniques and tools.
* Projects could include delivering advanced forensic software, improving evidence collection methods, and enhancing collaboration between forensic experts and law enforcement agencies.
* *State Operations Command Centre (SOCC) Enhancement*:
* The SOCC serves as the nerve centre for managing state operations, crisis response, and disaster management. Your role would involve delivering projects that enhance its capabilities.
* Projects might encompass enhancements to real-time monitoring systems, integrating data from various sources (such as surveillance cameras, sensors, and social media), and ensuring efficient coordination during emergencies.
* *Data Science &
Analytics Initiatives*:
* Data science is pivotal for informed decision-making. You’d contribute to projects that leverage data analytics to enhance state services.
* Examples include predictive modelling for resource allocation and identifying patterns in crime data to improve law enforcement strategies.
* *Intelligence Services Advancements*:
* Intelligence services rely on cutting-edge technology and methodologies. Your work would directly involve delivering projects that enhance its capabilities that impact national security.

The Project Manager role provides a customer focused project delivery service in conjunction with SME’s to deliver on project outcomes. The position provides project leadership and management for the State Intelligence &
Command teams, which includes directly managing project, cost and schedule activities and project resources. This role will Initiate, manage, deliver, and implement large-scale, complex projects that are of corporate significance and may consist of multiple tranches.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have knowledge of, or experience in, project management and delivery, governance and resource management and the ability to work independently at a senior level. In this role you will be liaising with managers at all levels so sound written and verbal communication skills are required along with the ability to build effective working relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders to deliver the best outcome for the portfolio.
*This position is offered as a twelve (12) month contract/secondment opportunity with the possibility of extension.*

* *Project Management experience*:
* Initiating, developing, managing and implementing projects at a corporate level. Managing resources (human, physical and financial) and ensuring their optimal usage. Utilising computer software to effectively manage and track project progress. Undertaking risk management and using strong project management methodologies. Developing and maintaining detailed project plans, schedules and budgets.
* *Leadership skills:
*
* Providing effective leadership and direction to others. Creating a positive work environment that contributes to positive work place change. Leading and assisting the team from project initiation through to planning, delivery and closure of projects.
Applicants are also required to submit a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV). Your CV should provide enough detail (dot points are sufficient) to allow the selection panel to assess your skills, experience and qualifications relevant to the Key Accountabilities of the attached Position Description Form.
The CV must also include the names and contact details of two (2) referees who can comment on the applicant’s ability to satisfy all of the Essential Work Related Requirements. Applicants should nominate at least one immediate (most contemporary) supervisor/manager unless exceptional circumstances exist.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other similar vacancies throughout the metropolitan area. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, then the panel may select another suitable applicant from this selection process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from the initial date of the appointment.
