Triple Zero Victoria (000VIC) provides the critical link between the Victorian community and the state's emergency services agencies. It provides Victoria's 24-hour emergency call-taking and dispatch services for Police, Fire, Ambulance and VICSES.

About the Role

Reporting to the Director, Commercial and Procurement, the Procurement Lead oversees all phases of strategic sourcing activities while providing expert guidance and support within 000VIC. The Procurement Lead plays a critical role in optimizing 000VIC's procurement activities and ensuring seamless availability of goods and services.

Day to day responsibilities include:

  • Lead a small team that has authority to develop and undertake strategic sourcing projects across multiple procurement categories
  • Engage and negotiate with supply markets based on strategic principles and a total cost of ownership approach
  • Support the development and implementation of departmental category strategies, policies and procedures ensuring compliance with the Victorian Government Purchasing Board policies, and other Government legislative requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal procurement policies.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, such as finance, operations, and legal teams, to align procurement activities with organizational needs.

About You

The preferred candidate will hold highly developed commercial acumen with strong negotiation skills to deliver solutions to high value or high risk sourcing activities. You will have the ability to identify and implement opportunities to improve strategic sourcing, procurement and contract management, coupled with the following skills and attributes:

  • Extensive demonstrable experience in procurement or strategic sourcing roles, with a focus on procurement strategy development, vendor management, and contract negotiations.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, industry trends, and relevant regulations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of procurement practices and procedures and financial management systems with at least seven years' experience in strategic sourcing with the ability to understand and apply the Victorian Government Purchasing Board guidelines.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with and influence a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
