Premier has a team of 43 individuals who serve approximately 750 stockholders in the six counties in northeast Colorado. The Association includes three lending office locations and an administrative office. We are proud to report we have returned over $87 million to our member-owners since 1996. Premier Farm Credit is a thriving institution with $1.04 billion in assets and $224 million in member equity. Over the past three years, the Association has experienced an average of 9.2% growth.

Premier Farm Credit is a part of the Farm Credit System, a nationwide network of borrower-owned lending institutions and specialized service organizations. The Farm Credit System provides loans, leases, and related services to farmers, ranchers, rural homeowners, aquatic producers, timber harvesters, agribusinesses, and agricultural and rural utility cooperatives and has more than $480 billion in assets.

After a distinguished 38-year career of serving the Farm Credit System and America's farmers and ranchers, our President &
CEO will be retiring and the Board of Directors of Premier Farm Credit is seeking the next CEO to lead this organization into the future.


POSITION PURPOSE

The President &
CEO provides strategic leadership for the Association by working with the Board of Directors and the Leadership Team to establish short-term and long-term goals, strategies, plans, and policies. The CEO controls and oversees all Association functions. The CEO develops and maintains an effective marketing and business development program, develops an effective credit administration program, and maintains a quality loan portfolio. The CEO formulates and oversees financial objectives, strategies, and policies for the Association. The CEO represents the Association throughout the service area and carries out various public relations responsibilities.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • In collaboration with the Board of Directors, the CEO will lead the development of a strategic planning and annual business planning processes that assure Premier will thrive today and into the future. This processinvolves providing visionary leadership in the development and execution of long-range strategic plans, foreseeing obstacles and opportunities, and generating breakthrough ideas.
  • In collaboration with the Board of Directors, provides leadership to the Association that inspires the highest level of team engagement, professionalism, and mutual respect for all stakeholders.
  • Oversees Association growth and favorable community image through the implementation of a business development and marketing program to provide lending and related services to those eligible to do business with the Association. Understands the members' current requirements, anticipates their future needs, and fosters a member-focused environment.
  • Facilitates effective communication with the Board by sharing information and providing advice to the Board to maintain an effective and knowledgeable Board regarding all aspects of the Association's operations.
  • Assures a high performing Board through Director communications, System knowledge, development, and training.
  • Serves as a key spokesperson for the Association, representing Premier Farm Credit at local, state and national events, as well as local and state legislative hearings.
  • Serves as a liaison with other Farm Credit organization's leadership to assure collaborative working relationships.
  • Develops and maintains internal controls and credit policies to safeguard assets, manage risk and assure the confidentiality of information.
  • Maintains appropriate financial standards and cost effectiveness by operating within sound fiscal budgetary constraints as established by the Board, while ensuring the delivery of sound credit.
  • Oversees appropriate credit standards and competitive lending rates to support the financial stability of the organization.
  • Provides strategic leadership to the organization through the planning of finance, accounting, technology, human resources, operations and marketplace engagement strategies and actions.
  • Continue to build on the strong cultural foundation and actively manage the Association's culture, mission, key characteristics, and critical actions.
  • Facilitates management development and succession, proactively making necessary adjustments to maintain effective and efficient operations. Determines appropriate staffing and compensation levels for Association employees.
  • Ensures Association compliance with all regulatory statutes.
  • Other duties as required.

QUALIFYING CHARACTERISTICS

  • 10+ years of successful leadership experience, preferably in a senior leadership role.
  • 10 years of Farm Credit System experience is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Agricultural Economics or related field.
  • Experience in agricultural lending preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Expert financial skills, understanding income statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports.
  • Superior leadership, team building and talent development skills.
  • Strong analysis, judgment, and strategic thinking.
  • Thorough understanding of the laws and regulations governing financial institutions.
