The Clinical Excellence Commission (CEC) is committed to providing leadership in safety and quality to improve health care for patients in NSW. The primary focus of the CEC is to promote and support improved clinical care, safety and quality across the NSW public health system, and to meet functions specified by the Minister for Health. The CEC Strategic Plan places priority on delivering high performing reliable systems and ensuring safety and quality in the provision of healthcare for 'every patient, every time' is consistent across NSW Health.

What you'll be doing

The CEC Patient Safety Systems Program Lead will provide leadership, direction and governance of patient safety systems within the CEC and NSW Health. This includes, but is not limited to, the ims+ data system and Patient Safety Database (PSD). The role will provide expert strategic advice in relation to the optimisation of systems including design, functionality, data integrity, quality, reporting and use by the CEC and across the wider NSW Health System.

Selection Criteria

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent, demonstrated understanding of implementation methodologies and demonstrated successful experience in managing and implementing change.
  • Superior leadership, influencing and negotiation skills with extensive experience engaging senior stakeholders and customers to drive capability and development and achieve business outcomes.
  • Superior skills and proven experience in communicating qualitative and quantitative information to diverse audiences and stakeholders using Microsoft Office products in a creative and innovative format.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills including the ability to analyse and interpret complex information from numerous sources, prepare written reports, correspondence, briefing notes and submissions, and deal with challenges creatively and achieve business focused organisational development solutions.
  • Superior organisational skills and experience working in a high volume and demanding professional environment with a capacity to prioritise competing demands, multitask, achieve business goal within tight timeframes, perform and always work with a customer focused approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment as well as individually.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing complex state-wide projects and services. This includes capabilities and experience in systems, strategy, change, human behaviour and project management to plan, manage change, improve performance and project-manage.
  • Proven experience working with incident management systems and/or other patient safety related digital reporting platforms to optimise processes, outputs, and improve patient safety.

This position is a Permanent position and requires full working rights in Australia for the duration of the assignment.
