  • Starting salary:
    $128,163 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)

About the Role

Reporting to the Deputy Director:
UniSA Research Office (Operations), you will manage and lead the Research Projects Development Team and play a key role in building strategic relationships with the University community to effectively identify, promote and support external and internal funding opportunities. You will manage the development and implementation of systems and processes that support the growth in and diversification of funding for research projects, and provide strategic advice and options to senior managers on opportunities to increase and diversify the funding portfolio.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Postgraduate qualifications (or equivalent) and extensive experience in a relevant field or demonstrated equivalent experience, knowledge and skills
  • Significant demonstrated experience in exercising discretion, judgement and initiative, and providing strategic options and advice to senior staff
  • An excellent record of achievement in leading, coordinating and integrating client focused service delivery across multi-functional teams and units
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a large and diverse team including developing, coaching and motivating staff and managing workforce change
  • Proven ability to quickly acquire knowledge and understanding of external policies, procedures and legislative requirements and to provide high level interpretation and advice
  • Extensive knowledge of external funding sources available to research institutions with demonstrated experience in supporting the pre-award management of research grants and fellowships
