Legal Counsel

SkyCity Adelaide is currently looking for an experienced Legal Counsel to join our legal and compliance team and support our SkyCity Adelaide business.

About the opportunity

Reporting into the Senior Legal Counsel, this role will assist the legal and compliance team with the provision of legal advice to management and staff across the SkyCity Adelaide business, as well as coordinate compliance monitoring activities. This role is also responsible for the identification of legal risks across the business and the proactive management of mitigation strategies, and will assist with requests from regulatory and enforcement bodies to ensure prompt responses in an effective timeframe. Supporting SkyCity Adelaide's legal and regulatory compliance, this role will also assist with compliance monitoring activities, including compliance reviews, and will assist with the preparation and review of SkyCity Adelaide's governance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal/regulatory frameworks. Supported by the Senior Legal Counsel, this role will also be involved in strategic commercial legal decisions to enhance the service offering to the business.

About you

Possessing a minimum 5 years' experience in commercial law, advisory or compliance, as well as a degree in law, you will be admitted and enrolled as a solicitor in South Australia and will possess, or have the immediate ability to possess, a current SA Practising Certificate (consideration will also be given to candidates who are eligible to be admitted/obtain a Practising Certificate). You will have demonstrated sound ability in legal interpretation and analysis as well as the ability to identify and reconcile legislative requirements with the aims and objectives of the business. You will have advanced advisory and/or contract drafting skills, and your written and verbal communication skills will be unrivalled, coupled with a sound knowledge of all Microsoft programs. You will be highly organised and with a strong attention to detail, and be able to effectively listen, communicate and negotiate with a range of stakeholders.
