About the role
This role bridges the legal, commercial and financial elements of projects, operational and under development, as well as general legal advice on corporate law matters, governance and compliance. It covers activity throughout the project life cycle supporting the senior legal team in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, overseeing compliance and assisting with dispute resolution.
Duties
- Support the senior members of the legal team with research and advice in respect of a broad range of legal issues e.G. general corporate law, electricity contracts, regulatory compliance, service agreements and contractual disputes;
- Advise on renewable energy projects ranging from wind, solar and battery;
- Provide general legal support for the business activities in corporate, commercial, project and finance matters;
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders on various aspects of the energy or corporate projects;
and - Identify commercial and legal risks as well as solutions to the project teams and wider organisation.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor of Laws in Australia and 3-6 years of post-qualification experience
- Solid experience within a top tier law firm or in house legal counsel drafting and negotiating general commercial contracts
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as a team, supporting the wider team on a broad range of projects
- Relevant renewable energy, power or O&
G experience is highly regarded but not essential
