Our client, a high performing Australian energy infrastructure business, is seeking a Legal Counsel (Operations) to join its Legal team.

Responsible for delivering comprehensive legal advice and services to enable the organisation achieve its core operations objectives, the Legal team partner with the business in relation to all issues including transactions, commercial contracts, procurement, technology, property, regulatory matters, employment, claims and disputes.

As part of an established team, on a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for advising on a range of general commercial matters across the business;
drafting and negotiating a variety of complex commercial agreements;
mitigating legal and strategic risks;
compliance;
and managing any claims and disputes.

Candidates offering ideally 5 to 8years' quality experience in commercial advisory and contracting is essential to be successful in the role. Litigation experience is also highly regarded.

Candidates should be well equipped to navigate a fast-paced work environment and confident to handle a broad range of responsibilities.

An eager and positive attitude, a collaborative approach, strong written and verbal communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to build relationships with stakeholders are essential.
