Primary Purpose of Role

Coordinate and manage the production process for all categories for the brand, ensuring brand strategy aligns with sourcing strategy. Work closely with Product team to deliver the goods at the desired time. Consistently communicate with factories to ensure go-to-market calendar is managed. Liaise with brand stakeholders with regards to the Good Business Journey and how best to roll out for Politix

Key Responsibilities and Duties (Principal Accountabilities)
Describe major areas of work performed. For each accountability, indicate what is achieved and why. Include any important activities that may only be performed at certain times of the year.

Production and Costing - communication

  • Liaise with factories to confirm FOB and present options to the design team for reductions if required.
  • Negotiate cost and work with design for alternative options
  • Follow up with suppliers regularly to ensure Critical Path Management and deadlines are met
  • Communicate any risks related to deliveries and work with Design and Planning for a contingency plan.
  • Weekly liaison with factories regarding production status and any possible issues relating to production timelines
  • Weekly WIP meetings with Product coordinator to make sure all development is on track
  • Work with Product Coordinator to make sure fabrics are signed off on time to book.
  • Book all bulk fabric on time with the mills or factories

Administration

  • Raise all orders for the season alongside Product Coordinator
  • Manage booking charts, capacity bookings, deliveries and confirmed quantities given by planning
  • Manage, create and roll out the season's Critical Path to Brand and suppliers

Sustainability

  • Obtain and substantiate all certification required to align with our sustainability call outs on each product
  • Work with design to discuss with the mills on what they are certified for by category and what evidence they can provide
  • Work with the product coordinator and help train on the best sustainability practices.
  • Obtain all licenses, scope and transaction certs where necessary

Workplace Health and Safety (WHS)

  • Implement and adhere to WHS policies and procedures, guidelines and safe work practices within your area of responsibility.
  • Complete WHS/EEO induction and any prescribed WHS training.
  • Maintain a safe working environment for team members, contractors and visitors, and ensure that others are not put at risk.
  • Ensure that you consult and do not introduce new hazards or breach WHS legislation when implementing new initiatives, systems, products, equipment or designs.
  • Report injuries or hazards as per policy and support return to work programs.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
Describe the knowledge, skills and experience essential for effective/competent performance in this position. Also, specify any formal qualification/certification that may be required or equivalent experience.

Qualifications/ Memberships:

  • Bachelor of Fashion/Textiles or equivalent tertiary design qualification.

Experience:

  • Solid understanding of the production process
  • Product construction knowledge
  • Negotiating costs with suppliers
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Highly organised.
  • Sustainability expertise within a fast paced fashion brand

Objectives and Measures
(How successful performance will be measured):

  • Cost efficiency - Negotiating successfully to achieve the most commercially viable options
  • Time-to-market - Meet go to market calendar timing to ensure delivery to customer is met on time (95% on time delivery for protos)
  • Data accuracy - manage all accurate data to the suppliers
  • BGP % maintain the current target margin roll up for the season
