The Role

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Strategy &
Business Development, the Head of People &
Culture is a foundational and initially standalone role that will lead the People and Culture development at MAAP.

The primary purpose of the role is to provide expert strategic and operational HR advice to the MAAP executive and management teams;
support the developmentof organisational capability through talent acquisition and development;
and ensure compliance with employment law and regulations in all markets in which we operate.

The Head of People &
Culture will implement new policies and people programs that support the organisation's vision, values, and future ways of working with the goal of fostering strong people engagement, high performance, retention, a positive team environment and workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

- Develop and implement People &
Culture strategy (c. 5-year horizon) and tactical plan (12-month horizon) that supports the overall business strategy. The plan should cover initiatives, programs and activities that support and nurture culture and engagement, drive performance and efficiency, expand capability and cover compliance and risk management.

- Provide guidance and support to the executive team on organisational design, including related change management.

- Workforce planning - ensuring the right resources, with the right skills are in place to support the business objectives.

- Develop, monitor, and analyse key people metrics, including turnover and performance.

Coaching &
Advice

- Coach and develop managers to enable them to handle people management issues, guiding them towards effective people management practices, and the resolution of performance matters.

- Provide timely and expert advice on HR matters to the MAAP executive and management teams.

Talent Acquisition

- Manage the talent acquisition process end to end, from advertising and sourcing to screening and interviewing, ensuring the hiring of suitable and capable talent to meet role, function, and business requirements.

- Arrange and complete reference checks, letters of offer and employment contracts.

- Ensure recruitment is conducted within MAAP's framework of fit, capability and motivation.

- Provide managers with assistance in the creation and updating of position descriptions.

Onboarding and Offboarding

- Develop and implement an onboarding and induction process that is globally consistent but tailored between office and retail team members.

- Support managers with the onboarding and induction processes to ensure all incoming team members receive a consistent and positive experience in their first 3 months of employment.

- Develop and implement an offboarding process for team members to obtain feedback and provide outgoing team members with a positive close to their experience with MAAP.

- Ensure onboarding and offboarding communications are appropriately communicated to the business.

Performance Management and Learning &
Development

- Develop, manage, and lead a globally consistent performance management framework including:

- a performance review &
development cycle that is aligned to company objectives and values, allowing for development needs of team members.

- setting and measuring KPIs.

- development needs analysis and performance improvement plans.

- Support managers in the execution of the annual performance management cycle, and development, in the interests of building organisational capability.

- Identify and source learning and development programs and opportunities as needed.

Remuneration and Benefits

- Refine the annual remuneration review process to link with the Performance Management cycle and ensure that it is conducted globally consistently.

- Own the annual remuneration review and incentive plan, including providing detailed instructions and guidelines to managers and ensuring that the process is complete within planned timeframes.

- Conduct remuneration benchmarking on key roles and advise on remuneration and benefits strategies and practices in all markets.

- Maintain and develop non-financial team member benefits in all markets.

- Ensure timely rollout and education of new &
updated policies and procedures.

- Ensure that terms &
conditions of employment are compliant with appropriate legislation in all markets including the Fair Work Act in Australia and similar in other countries.

- Advise and support managers on all employment relations matters, managing grievance and misconduct claims including end-to-end investigations, liaising with external advisors where necessary.

- Scope and implement an HR Information System.

The Ideal Candidate

A passionate and agile leader, who holds a deep understanding of the MAAP brand, culture, and compliance requirements of the business. You will have a proven ability to coach and support leaders in the business and promote open communication and collaboration to deliver exceptional HR support. A creative thinker who is able to build and execute practices in line with MAAP's business model.

- A relevant degree and demonstrated, well-rounded generalist HR experience in a standalone, greenfield Head of People &
Culture / HR Manager role, ideally within a premium retail, design, or customer service industry and high-performance culture.

- Experience working in a global business essential, especially in a central / HQ role within a multi-site retail or similar industry and have demonstrated experience working with employees and third-party providers in offshore markets.

- Capable of credibly engaging with and building trusted relationships with the executive team as well as frontline leaders and the broader workforce, while maintaining independence and integrity.

- Ability to seamlessly shift between strategic and hands-on operations.

- Proven experience in coaching and supporting others, encouraging a strong sense of collaboration and cohesion across the business, in a knowledgeable, professional, constructive, and respectful manner.

- Successfully hold a mandate to effect and embrace change that comes from growth in a global business and be able to bring people on that journey.

- A desire to work in an innovative and growing organisation and team and lead the development of the People &
Culture function.

- Ability to determine key priorities and identify / source / develop pragmatic solutions.

- Exposure to managing employee performance and behaviours.

- Experienced in sourcing and implementing appropriate systems, frameworks, and practices to suit the business.

- Able to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes.

- Strong attention to detail, resilient, with strength in judgement and problem-solving.

- Personal values which truly reflect those of MAAP.
