Purpose of your role
The Head of Group Compliance is a key leadership and influencing role at OFX responsible for leading group wide compliance practices that promotes the ongoing embedding and maturity of our compliance culture across the OFX Group.

What you do

  • Manage the group wide core compliance program that ensures consistency of compliance controls and practices recognising and respecting regional differences and variances.
  • Working in partnership with the regional Heads of Compliance and the broader business ensure:
    • A health and mature compliance culture is maintained, globally.
    • A dynamic regulatory compliance strategy is maintained and executed globally.
    • A core system of risk controls is maintained ensuring ongoing compliance with legislative and regulatory obligations.
    • A core obligations framework is maintained, mapped to key controls.
    • Compliance control monitoring processes are maintained, and key compliance metrics are reported through OFX's risk governance structure.
  • Lead the awareness and education of compliance globally connecting with your global network to drive compliance maturity and change management.
  • AML CTF compliance is a core component of the role. Working in collaboration with the regional Heads of Compliance, manage the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of OFX's regional AML/CTF programs, policies, procedures, and systems, including assessing and mitigating AML risk, in line with OFX's risk appetite. The role will lead a centre of excellence on AML CTF compliance working with the regional Heads of Compliance.
  • Working with the regional Heads of Compliance, commission and manage a program of independent reviews of OFX entities' AML/CTF programs.
  • Design and maintain a suite of compliance policies relating to the operation of compliance globally.
  • As a key member of the OFX Senior Leadership Team, provide organisational leadership to execute OFX's corporate strategy.
  • Regularly report to and communicate with OFX's Group Executive Team, Executive Risk Committee and the OFX Board risk and audit committee in relation to relevant compliance matters, regulatory change and industry news.
  • Act as an ambassador for and promote the best interests of OFX at all times, including the promotion of OFX company values.
  • Lead a team of compliance professionals responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory and compliance obligations across the OFX Group
  • Undertake such other duties as maybe required from time to time as are consistent with the responsibilities of the post and the needs of OFX.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications / professional qualification in a Law, Commerce or Business and/ or technical discipline.

Knowledge, skills, experience

  • 10+ years of financial services experience with a strong risk management and compliance background.
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience for a division of a large corporation.
  • Comprehensive working knowledge and understanding of financial services and AML legislation in Australia, Canada, European Union (Ireland), Hong Kong, New Zealand, Singapore, United Kingdom and United States. Experience with additional Asian markets also desirable.
  • Business process knowledge and broad-based operational perspective.
  • Experience working with regulators and managing regulatory relationships.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with staff at all levels of the organisation as well as with external stakeholders.
  • Leadership skills with a strong interest in coaching and developing staff.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written).
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and solve problems.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Self-directed, professional and strong initiative and organisational skills.
  • Money remittance / payments experience is preferred though not essential.
