How you'll make an impact

Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is accountable for AMP's ERM framework and underlying policies, risk management capability and the provision of high-quality risk advice, insight, and support to our business partners. Financial Risk is one of four teams within Bank ERM, along with Credit Risk, Credit Portfolio Analytics and Insights, and Operational Risk and Compliance.

This is a critical role within the Bank ERM Team, leading the second line oversight program over Treasury and Financial Risk, for both AMP Bank Limited and AMP Limited. As a trusted adviser to Group Treasury and Finance Teams, you will build strong stakeholder relationships to enable you to effectively review and challenge the application of AMP's Risk Management Strategy within the Group Treasury and Bank Finance Team, and any other team that supports the management of Group Treasury risks or obligations.

You'll make an impact by:

You will be responsible for leading AMP Limited and AMP Bank's second line of defence oversight over Treasury and Financial risks, including Financial Risk for AMP Limited and AMP Bank, and related obligations through the following core deliverables:

  • Governance
  • Policy
  • Strategy and Planning
  • Risk Culture and Management
  • Communication, Awareness and Training
  • Regulator Relationship Management
  • People Leadership and Development

What you will bring to the team

  • Degree in Economics, Quantitative Finance or similar
  • Treasury Experience
  • 15+ years' relevant professional and/or supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships at a range of levels
  • Ability to constructively challenge, consult and advise, whilst maintaining excellent relationships and the respect of senior executives
  • Strong leadership to create and sustain a culture of accountability, ownership, and delivery
  • Sound organisational planning and implementation skills, and demonstrated ability to apply them in rapidly changing business environments
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to think laterally and strategically.
  • Experience in leading and developing people to deliver on operational goals, and a record of accomplishment in maintaining a high performing team
  • Outcomes focussed
  • Seek engagement and information where it is needed (proactive, not reactive)
  • Experienced understanding of own Sub-Division/Division;
    and broad understandingof the overall Group and its competitive environment.
  • Sets and achieves operational targets, objectives or service standards with a short to medium term focus, that directly impact the results of a department.
  • Applies emerging technical capability within own operational area/department
  • Analyse both routine and varied issues of differing complexity and modifies working methods/processes in own job, sometimes without the benefit of defined procedures.
