Toowoomba Grammar School is looking for a dynamic and experienced Head of Curriculum to join our Senior School Leadership Team.

TGS staff are passionate about boys' education and providing an inspiring and broad curriculum for all boys informed by best practice and evidence.


About Toowoomba Grammar School


Toowoomba Grammar School was founded in 1875 and is a member school of the Great Public Schools Association of Queensland (GPS).

It is an independent non-denominational day and boarding school for boys with a total enrolment of 1,200 from Preparatory to Year 12.

There are approximately 300 boarders in the School coming predominantly from throughout Queensland, Northern New South Wales and the Northern Territory.

The School's campus covers 20.5 hectares and is located one kilometre from the centre of Toowoomba.

About the Position


The Head of Curriculum will play a crucial role in overseeing curriculum compliance, development, and the promotion of best practice pedagogy in collaboration with academic leaders.

As a leader, you will be instrumental in implementing the school's educational vision and ensuring our students are equipped for success in the 21st Century.


The Head of Curriculum is a senior middle leadership and strategic role responsible for overseeing curriculum compliance and development in Years 7-12.

You will collaborate with academic leaders to promote best practice pedagogy and provide strong leadership to implement the school's educational vision.

You will work closely with the School Executive and the Head of Teacher Development to ensure effective delivery of academic programs, upholding our commitment to excellence in boys' education.

    Demonstrated experience in providing educational leadership and a clear vision for curriculum development and pedagogy in a secondary school setting. Proven ability to align curriculum objectives with the school's educational vision and mission, promoting an inclusive, rigorous, and forward-thinking education for boys that prepares them for the challenges of the 21st Century.

Leadership and Collaboration:
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire staff to achieve excellence in their teaching practice. Demonstrated experience in building positive relationships with academic leaders, teachers, and stakeholders, fostering a collaborative and cooperative work environment focused on continuous improvement and innovation.

Innovative Integration of Technology:
Proficient in leveraging technology to enhance teaching and learning experiences, improve student outcomes, and foster creativity and innovation in the classroom.

Student-Centered Approach:
Commitment to the development and well-being of students, ensuring that curriculum design and teaching practices cater to individual needs, interests, and abilities, including those with diverse learning requirements.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:
Familiarity with Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) processes and previous or current experience in a quality assurance role. Demonstrated ability to manage academic integrity, assessment processes, and ensure compliance with relevant educational standards.

Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and learning, staying up-to-date with educational research, trends, and best practices to enhance personal and professional growth.
