Our Client
Our client is a leading broiler poultry grower in Australia, known for its high-quality agricultural infrastructure and in-house design and construction capabilities. They operate poultry farms under secure, long-term contracts with top poultry processors, adhering to best practices in animal welfare and sustainability.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Farm Manager to autonomously oversee all aspects of our farming operation. You will manage the entire broiler chicken lifecycle and the facilities where they are housed. Reporting directly to the Regional Operations Manager, you will lead a team of up to eight staff and coordinate with relevant contractors.
Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain positive relationships with producer company representatives.
  • Implement innovative shed management techniques to meet optimal bird growing requirements while adhering to animal welfare and processor standards.
  • Ensure the farm and structures are maintained and presented to the highest standards.
  • Train, motivate, and lead the farming team to achieve professional and quality outcomes.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs and other metrics as required.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement in environmental awareness, animal welfare, quality, productivity, and safety.
  • Adhere to biosecurity, health and safety, environmental, and animal welfare procedures at all times.

Skills &
Experience

  • 5 years experience managing fully environmentally controlled broiler farms.
  • Proven people management and industrial relations skills.
  • Experience in managing Workplace Health and Safety systems and creating a safety-first culture.
  • Strong stakeholder relationship management skills.
  • A desire to cultivate a continuous improvement culture that drives performance and process enhancements.
  • Day-to-day on-site maintenance capabilities.
  • Ability to think outside the box and challenge the norm to achieve results.
  • Experience in budget and cost management.
