Purpose of Role:

We are currently looking for an Engineering Performance &
Policy Manager to support the advancement of Engineering excellence and continuous improvement across the Weir Minerals engineering functions.

You will be responsible for driving the effective deployment of lean practices across all aspects of Weir Minerals Engineering Operations. This will include, but not be limited to, all aspects of Engineering Policy, Engineering Process Framework/Governance and Best Practice.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for the delivery of the New Product Introduction (NPI) framework and associated processes as well as supporting the wider Innovation process across Weir Minerals Engineering capability through the identification and curation of new and existing policies and procedures.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement engineering policy, process and procedures framework with visible and measurable compliance metrics
  • Identify gaps and lead development of new policy, process and procedures as well as review and update existing.
  • Drive the effective refresh and delivery of compliant Engineering Best Practice through the development of a Better Practice framework and auditing program
  • Identify business and process improvement initiatives that drive cost efficiencies and ensuring a high level of new product development vitality
  • Support the monthly reporting of all Division Technology projects and sponsored activities

Job Knowledge:

  • Bachelor degree in a relevant engineering discipline or relevant working experience
  • Project management expertise, with proven ability to effectively manage the combination of commercial and engineering/technical pressures involved in setting up new programs.
  • Knowledge of Agile, Design Thinking and Lead Toolset (Desirable)
  • Experience of reviewing and authoring technical policy, process and procedure documentation
  • Understanding New Product Introduction processes with application experience.
  • Experience working in a global organization and exposure, including multicultural awareness
  • Willingness to travel internationally
