About the role

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Integrated Child and Family Services, you will be part of a team developing and implementing an integrated child and family service. This exciting and innovative new service will work with children, parents, caregivers, and early education services in nurturing, supporting, and raising healthy, vibrant, and happy children and young people.

The services provided include parent/carer education, support groups, early education support, targeted interventions for families and children, evidence-based therapeutic programs, and supported/targeted playgroups. To further enhance the support we provide for families, we are implementing an integrated child and family service adjunct to our Early Education and Care Centres. The aim is to provide families with easier access to the support and services that parents/carers need to raise children safely, securely and with opportunity to achieve their full potential. The role involves working in various settings, such as early education centres, community, and family homes, and requires the ability to work with participants presenting different needs.

Required qualifications include:

  • tertiary education in Social Work, Psychology, Early Childhood Education, or a related field
  • certifications in psychoeducation and therapeutic programs, and/or knowledge of Attachment Theory, Trauma-Informed Practice, Neurobehavioral development, and Play Therapy would be highly advantageous
  • demonstrated experience working with vulnerable parents and families, knowledge of trauma informed care, mental health and socioemotional development, proficiency in group program facilitation, and effective collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • current First Aid Certificate, current Working with Vulnerable People registration (ACT) and/or a Working with Children Check (NSW)
  • willing and able to undertakes a National Criminal History Clearance prior to commencement.
