The role will be responsible for leading and managing the Cards and Payments Change team delivering software development and scheme compliance projects. Working on projects that involves enhancements to the payments and switch platform provides an excellent opportunity for a payments software professional to keep abreast of current and future industry technology that helps shape Australian payments landscape.
How will I help?

  • Managing resources and budgets.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the performance of the engineering team.
  • Recruiting and hiring Base24/Mainframe engineers.
  • Ensuring that software development follows best practices and standards.
  • Implementing and managing testing processes by assisting the enterprise test team in establishing testing scope and execution of test cases.
  • Identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Effectively communicate with stakeholders in understanding business requirements and reporting project status and progress on a regular basis.
  • Work in collaboration with the other technical teams from that interface with the switching platform during development and testing.
  • Understand existing codes and configuration to help in analysis to establish current state and assist in troubleshooting issues.
  • Independently develop changes based on defined requirements.

What do I need?

  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team of senior engineers.
  • Solid understanding of cards and payments industry.
  • Familiar with AS2805 and ISO8583 standards
  • 10+ years of programming experience on BASE24 (or equivalent products running on HPE Nonstop) to independently develop customisations and enhancements.
  • Deep understanding of ATM and POS transaction processing.
  • Excellent proficiency in analysing requirements and translating into technical design.
  • Communication skills to effectively communicate with stakeholders.
