Job Description
Play a critical role in advancing our agile delivery capability across our 12 publishing delivery teams responsible for our audience websites, native apps and editorial tools. This role works at the publishing portfolio level, overseeing all of the delivery teams and their ways of working, planning, prioritisation and delivery.
You will have regular interactions with business stakeholders and product owners to have an up to date view of initiatives' pipeline and implement a consistent initiative lifecycle across the publishing portfolio.
Work closely with senior tech and product directors, senior Engineering Managers, Head of Product and Iteration Managers to help plan and run the publishing portfolio of work, maintain a backlog, develop a roadmap, report on progress, allocate costs and create an agile delivery culture and structure that encourages sustainable development.
Nine has an Agile Delivery Practice which works across all engineering teams. You will regularly interact with the Agile Delivery Practice Lead to roll out common practices in publishing as well as provide feedback on effectiveness and challenges of adopted processes.
Responsibilities:
Shape and evolve our agile delivery tooling and frameworks across the initiative lifecycle
Drive greater alignment, effectiveness and efficiency
Mentor and coach Iteration Managers, Head of Product and Senior Engineering Managers to build their agile delivery capability
Manage the publishing delivery plan
Ensure effective execution through dependency management, risk analysis, release planning and measurement models
Work with the stakeholders to continuously improve ways of working for the publishing portfolio
Qualifications
What we would like to see:
Successful track record as senior Scrum Master (or equivalent) across multiple teams
Experience mentoring and coaching Scrum Masters/Iteration Managers, tech and product managers
Experience in creating, maintaining and improving end to end focus of agile practices, principles and organisational agility
Skilled in managing group dynamics and facilitation with senior stakeholders
Experience in different agile delivery practices and frameworks;
team and scaledWorking in and around product and development teams
Working in a technical environment, able to translate product aspirations and strategic goals into delivery plans
Desirable skills:
Media industry and Atlassian JIRA, including Advanced Roadmaps
