We are now excited to invite applications for the role of Account Director with our awesome Public Relations team in Sydney. This opportunity sits in our Corporate/Consumer PR team, specialising in finance, fintech, B2B and tech PR work that helps shape brand narratives and contributes to creating stories that drive financial education and inclusion.

The role:

As the Account Director (A D ) , you will assume direct responsibility for every aspect of the day-to-day management of client work in the FinT ech /Corporate team. You will be responsible for developing efficient pitching strategies, translating data and insights into great stories and fostering relationship s with the media and the client. New business is also an important opportunity for this role, and you will have the chance to work closely with the leadership to bring new accounts, strengthen our partnership with Fintech Australia and stretch your network with exciting opportunities within the Dents u Group. Core responsibilities:

  • Provides counsel to clients;
    establishes and builds key client relationships

  • Oversees and leads a wide variety of communications programmes across multiple channels that meet client objectives

  • Creates the development of plans, proposals, results reports, creative briefs and other communications documents

  • Develops relationships in Financial Services, Tech and other corporate industries

  • Manages a direct report and oversees a broader team of resources nationally

  • Provides counselling around corporate/finance pitches to our national dentsu teams across different accounts

  • Organises, directs, and collaborates effectively across teams to achieve results.

  • Manages client finances together with Group Business Director and finance team, including allocation of resources and time management

  • Maintains routine contact with key client stakeholders when appropriate. Regularly seeks client feedback on the team's performance.

A bit about you:

  • Provides client with strategic advice on how to best communicate their activities/campaigns

  • Have an innate understanding of what makes news, how to develop story angles and be able to pitch ideas to the media effectively

  • Highly competent in a range of PR services, including storytelling, media relations, copywriting for specific regulation environments and styles that suit different media targets, data and insights analysis

  • Be excited about numbers and

  • Excellent knowledge of the media - the ability to manage a media relations campaign and pitch stories independently

  • 5 yrs- 7 ys minimum experience in Account Management or Exec role - able to demonstrate excellent writing strategies, social copy and media releases from this time
