War Memorial Hospital (WMH) is a 3rd Schedule Aged Rehabilitation hospital, situated in Waverley, owned and operated by Uniting and part of the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD). Services are comprised of 24-hour inpatient care, Monday to Friday outpatient departments, iREAP Day Rehabilitation program, several specialist community teams inclusive of Transitional Aged Care, Aged Care Assessment Team, Geriatric Flying Squad, Young Onset Dementia, and day centre program, 24-hour accommodation service for regional guests and the full range of hospital support services. An opportunity exists for a suitably skilled candidate to join the War Memorial Hospital Outpatient Department as an Administration Officer. The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative support to Outpatient Services in the delivery of health care to patients of the War Memorial Hospital under the supervision of a Health Professional and consistent with WMH, SESLHD and Uniting policies, procedures, and standards. In particular, the role works closely with the Continence Advisory Service, integrated Rehabilitation for Early Dementia Program (iREADi), Speech Pathology, Falls Clinic and integrated Rehabilitation and Enablement Program (iREAP) to enable service efficiency and effectiveness through administrative and client support.
This is a flexible position, with opportunity to work across different clinical areas as directed by the Outpatient Administration Manager and Allied Health &
Integrated Care Manager, to support service continuity.
This fixed term part time position (24 hours per week) is available from July 2024 to July 2025. Required days of work are Monday, Thursday and one day negotiable. Preference will be given to applicants who are flexible to work additional hours to support leave relief or vacancies across the campus.

Selection Criteria:
1. Recent experience in a clerical position including switchboard, reception, word processing, data entry, filing, faxing, scanning etc.
2. Demonstrated ability to plan, organise and problem solve within a busy team environment and with indirect supervision.
3. Excellent interpersonal communication skills including both verbal and written.
4. Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload and deal with multiple demands.
5. Demonstrated commitment to provision of quality customer service to both internal and external customers.
6. Demonstrated experience using MS Office suite and healthcare databases or willingness to learn.
7. High standard of accurate word processing skills (medical terminology knowledge an advantage)
All Category A NSW Health workers are required to have received an annual seasonal Influenza vaccination or have an approved medical contraindication certificate. COVID-19 vaccinations are strongly recommended for all NSW Health workers.
