What you do:

As the Technical Lead, you will be leading the engineering teams and providing thought leadership and technical guidance to ensure the highest quality and fit-for-purpose for our platforms. You will also be accountable for building products in line with the technology strategy and product roadmaps. This includes making collaborative decisions on technology stack, design patterns, and overall technical strategy for your domain.

You will be a practitioner level digital software engineer in your respective domain and have the technical ability to observe/analyse software engineering/development practices and drive the practice maturity and capability uplift. This is a technical role, so you're expected to spend a percentage of your time 'on the tools' writing code.

This role is suitable for a development practitioner with solid commercial experience, aspiring to grow into a technical leadership position and be a key player in the company-wide digital transformation, designing and building the next iteration of digital products and platforms.

What you need:

  • Solid experience in a full-stack development role
  • Experience in leading and growing software engineering teams
  • Experience in building solutions in complex, cloud-based environments
  • Commercial experience with Java and/or Node.JS
  • Commercial experience in front-end development with React or Angular
  • Designing, building, and running solutions in AWS cloud with focus on scalability and reliability with serverless and event-driven architecture
  • Experience running applications in production with high focus on observability

Desirable;

  • Experience working within a highly regulated industry.
  • Experience in hybrid inhouse/offshore delivery model
  • Experience with transforming a legacy technical stack to align with modern industry-adopted practices in software development and delivery
  • Experience in leading change within technology function in an organisation with both B2C and B2B requirements.
