About the role

As a Technical Lead your role works with the Engineering Practice to design, develop and implement improvements and capability in Engineering including people, tools, culture, and way of working. The Technical Lead is accountable for code quality, solution output, software, and platform engineering. As Technical Lead, you will provide systems analysis, design, development, maintenance, and ongoing support including guidance and mentoring of junior engineers.

What you'll do

• Technically lead your team, by practicing what you preach. Use the right tools/processes/culture in your team to get quality and secure code out to production fast.
• Coach and mentor engineers to improve their engineering capabilities and embed good practices.
• Be the first point of contact for questions from other engineers within the Tribe/Platform teams, and act as the conduit between the team and Domain technical leaders.
• Improve and embed best practice engineering with a view across people, process and technology
• Evangelise secure software development principles within the team through practices such as code reviews in line with the Secure Software Development Lifecycle and threat modelling.

What you'll bring

• 5+ years software engineering experience with 3+ years technical leadership.
• Previous experience coaching and mentoring engineers is desirable.
• Proficient experience in Java, Spring Boot and REST APIs.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as WireMock, Stubby, REST Assured, Jest, and Enzyme.
• Comprehensive knowledge in front end development, particularly with ReactJS.
• Solid expertise in cloud technologies (AWS/Azure) and DevOps practices.
