We are seeking a seasoned strategic leader with major project experience to join one of Australia's largest dedicated construction engineering consultancies. You will be a driving force within a highly successful business working on Australia's biggest infrastructure projects.

The role

• Develop and implement strategic plans for the engineering team and lead national engineering initiatives to drive growth, efficiency, and innovation.
• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects across the country.
• Coordinate with Principals, Senior Associates, and other personnel for smooth project execution.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of engineering professionals and technical staff.
• Ensure the highest standards of engineering practices are maintained.
• Work closely with Clients to understand their needs, build strong relationships with clients, industry stakeholders, and partners to foster opportunities for collaboration and new business.
• Help develop and manage the engineering Project and Task budgets and monitor project costs and ensure efficient use of resources.
• Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• Minimum accreditation of CPEng with Engineers Australia, RPEQ and RPEV are highly desirable.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role within a consultancy environment.
• Construction engineering/temporary works experience.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale engineering projects successfully.
• Experience in strategic planning and execution at a national or regional level.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to translate strategies into actionable plans.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• High level of technical proficiency in relevant engineering disciplines.
• Ability to manage budgets and understand billable hours model.
