How will your ideas contribute to shaping what's next?

As our new Technical Director, Power Systems, you'll be a vital part of the team who are changing the way we design and deliver major works to be carbon neutral and sustainable. Your role will include:

Winning Work &
Client Relationships

  • Responsible for achievement of revenue and relevant utilisation targets, developing of client proposals and tenders in conjunction with Business Development. This includes bid planning, facilitation, costing, writing, technical inputs, and signoff as required.

Project Delivery

  • Accountable for the overall success of all aspects of projects assigned. This includes but is not limited to contract negotiation, project management, managing timeliness, quality, risk management, project financial performance, communication, and scope management of the projects, in line with the Aurecon methodology.
  • Accountable for effective closeout of projects and debrief on all projects with the client, Client Relationship Executive/Managers and Project Leaders;
    responsible for providing technical expertise and overseeing all technical aspects of projects.

Financial management

  • Manage project profitability and financial contribution for allocated projects;
    ensure financial performance of the allocated projects in accordance with client proposals, business plans and budgets.

People Management &
Competency Development

  • Responsible for the leadership, management, development, and motivation of team, ensuring the ongoing development of careers and competencies, of the power transmission and distribution team.

What are we looking for from you?

You'll have a genuine passion for re-imagining problems and continuous learning to help shape the future.

We value that each of our team members brings something different to Aurecon. We look for people who have had a broad range of experiences throughout their career and can demonstrate how they have worked as part of a team to bring ideas to life.

As well as experience in a similar electrical engineering substation design and transmission and distribution role you will be required to:

  • Ideally you will have a PHD in power systems
  • Be degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or Civil Engineering
  • Ideally you will demonstrate. 15 years' experience within power systems for Technical Director, or 8+ years' experience for Associate, Technical Director to include grid connection processes, and system studies.
  • High level engineering consulting and client management skills, experienced in the delivery of major and/or complex design projects
  • Excellent communicator with well-developed commercial, analytical, and technical skills, with a strong client focus and proven track record in business development.
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership to coach and mentor a team of junior staff.
