Salary Range:
$117,718 - $128,897

The Commission is an independent statutory body that promotes improvement in policies and practices affecting the safety and wellbeing of Victorian children and young people. It has a particular focus on vulnerable children and young people. The Commission is also the regulator for the Child Safe Standards and the Reportable Conduct Scheme. The Commission supports flexible and hybrid working models.

The Team Leader, Education and Capacity Building leads a small team and reports to the Manager, Communications and Engagement.

The Team Leader will foster a collaborative approach and work with content experts to contribute to the development practical, useful and clear guidance that adapts complex legislation and policy to a form suitable for its intended audience.

In this role you will:

  • Manage and lead the Education and Capacity Building team, ensuring that individual and team responsibilities are clear, performance is managed and outcomes delivered, and capability development is provided to staff as required
  • Develop, review and quality assure content to ensure accuracy, relevance and reflection of contemporary research and CSS and RCS policy, legal and operational frameworks
  • Lead and support the delivery of a responsive, ongoing education and awareness strategy for CSS and RCS, overseeing and participating in the roll out of targeted activities to support compliance
  • Develop targeted resources and tools that will enable industry and sector organisations to achieve compliance
  • Lead and support information, training and development projects using key project management principles
  • Coordinate a stakeholder engagement and communications program on the Commission's functions and compliance activities
  • Prepare, review and present advice through materials including briefings, discussion papers, responses and presentations on policy and operational issues

  • Have experience working in a regulatory agency
  • Be flexible, responsive, creative
  • Demonstrate initiative and have excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking in planning, design, development and deployment of new processes and identify opportunities for enhancements to existing processes.
  • Have an interest in improving policies and practices affecting the safety and wellbeing of Victorian children and young people.
