The team is widely recognised for our key spatial platform that enables government, business and the community to interpret, interact and co-operate within the constraints and opportunities of the natural and built environment. This role will lead and influence a dedicated DevOps team that is expanding and improving the platform, enhancing its reputation as a robust, full featured and responsive platform that is recognised as a vital part of decision-making processes in Queensland.
This role will provide expert development skills and leadership, ensuring the team designs, builds, extends and maintains a sustainable, supportable toolset, that minimises technical debt.

About the role:
In this role you will:
- Continuously improve the Spatial Information Resource (SIR) environment consisting of on premise and cloud infrastructure and web services with automated, repeatable release processes and automated data transfer tool sets.
- Provide critical thinking, robust design approaches, and expert development skills to deliver custom tools across spatial information management, security, data and structure design, use and delivery.
- Lead and guide the team to ensure efficient and sustainable applicationsupportability through:
o Great design - best practice approaches, maximising re-use/extensibility, awareness of technical debt, strong governance, release management.
o Standardisation where possible.
o Continual improvement.
o Encouraging effective information management.

We are looking for the best suited candidate that will have a very clear and wellrounded vision for sustainable software development and maintenance, based on at least 3 to 5+ years of intensive development experience, with strong problem-solving skills.

You will also have or interested in, using your communication skills to mentor and guide your team towards a shared vision for a leading and sustainable platform. Experience with spatial technologies, (preferably ArcGIS), Postgres, Net, python and AWS cloud would be highly regarded to ensure a smooth transition to the environment, however this experience can be gained in the role. would mean you would be immediately comfortable with the environment.
