As a Special Counsel, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing strategic legal advice and support to clients in the banking and finance sector, including leading financial institutions, multinational corporations, and government entities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage complex banking and finance transactions, including syndicated lending, project finance, acquisition finance, and debt capital markets transactions.
- Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of banking and finance matters, including regulatory compliance, financial restructuring, and cross-border financing arrangements.
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support clients in navigating legal and regulatory challenges in the banking and finance industry.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of legal documents and agreements, including loan agreements, security documents, and financial services contracts.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external parties, including clients, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies, to achieve optimal outcomes for clients.
Skills and Attributes:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in corporate and institutional banking &
finance law, preferablygained within a reputable law firm or financial institution. - Demonstrated expertise in structuring and negotiating complex banking and finance transactions across various industry sectors.
- Strong understanding of banking and finance regulations and industry standards, with the ability to provide strategic advice to clients on compliance issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Proven leadership abilities, with experience in managing teams and mentoring junior lawyers.
