Work collaboratively to maintain the Department of Justice and Attorney-General software asset registers and definitive software library in accordance with Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
- Perform regular maintenance of data and systems required for software licence management.
- Ensure the accuracy and validity of licence data collected meets contemporary standards and requirement.
- Provide accurate and professional advice and support to clients regarding end-to end procurement activity and software management.
- Relationship contract management with IT vendors including the Large Account Reseller (LAR) to ensure the department obtains value for money and avoids risk.

The Senior Vendor Officer role provides the necessary support of complex software licensing models, for the effective management, control and protection of the Departments software assets in accordance with legislation, Queensland Government and Information Technology Services policy. You will contribute to, and work part of a team, and actively support the Information Technology Services branch in the delivery of timely and high-quality client services.
This role requires you to work autonomously in a specialist team and requires you to liaise with and build productive relationships with stakeholders across the branch.
Technical skills, abilities and cultural capability
- Maintain knowledge and understanding of licensing models in a rapidly changing ICT environment.
- Understand and articulate information particularly in relation to software licensing and the Software Asset Management and Procurement Policy.
- Prepare memos, advice, reports and submissions.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of effective software asset management services improvement processes and software lifecycle management.
- Utilise software asset management tool to produce reports and provide information to assist customers to meet compliance.
- Performs other essential duties and tasks specific to the position as would be reasonably required.
- This role requires you to work autonomously in a specialist team and requires you to liaise with and build productive relationships with stakeholders across the branch.
