What you'll be doing

Contribute to the Business Strategy to shape future of OneDigital

  • Independently monitor market trends to identify competitive threats and new business opportunities
  • Partner with Wesfarmers business development team to evaluate attractive markets and potential targets
  • Lead analyses of strategic opportunities and synthesise findings into recommendations
  • Manage and influence stakeholders, including senior executives, in a collegiate and supportive manner
  • Clearly communicate in written and verbal form, including to the Managing Director, One Digital leadership team, shareholders (Wesfarmers Group) and external stakeholders.

Lead and manage One Digital's strategic planning cycle

  • Lead the identification and solving of key business problems via a structured process of analysis, synthesis and iteration
  • Identify appropriate commercial and financial analysis and frameworks and oversee analysis of any consultants or third parties.
  • Create comprehensive business cases for critical initiatives, employing analytical discernment to secure organizational support.
  • Deliver strategic projects across business units getting buy-in from key stakeholders
  • Cleary communicate in written and verbal form, including to the Managing Director, One Digital leadership team, shareholders (Wesfarmers Group) and external stakeholders

Support MD on Strategic Initiatives

  • Lead preparation of materials for MD and other stakeholders (e.G. presentations for One Digital Board, Wesfarmers Board)
  • Prepare and review Board papers and internal and external presentations with the MD and One Digital Leadership Team to clearly communicate recommendations
  • Deliver verbal presentations to the Managing Director, One Digital Board, One Digital Leadership team, other stakeholders (eg Wesfarmers Group) and external stakeholders

Collaboration with Wesfarmers group on Key Projects

  • Lead preparation of annual Corporate Plan for the division
  • Support Group Business Development team on strategic projects
  • Build relationships across the Group (ie. with other Wesfarmers Divisions)

What you'll bring to the table

  • Bachelor's degree with consistent outstanding academic record
  • Advanced degree or MBA preferred
  • 5+ years' experience in consulting, business development, corporate strategy or related field
  • Experience in working in complex stakeholder environments to deliver large programs of work
  • Experience in preparing formal business documents and presentations (eg Board papers)
  • Subscriptions, loyalty programs and / or retail experience is viewed favourably but not a pre-requisite
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and strategically
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and to work effectively with people at all levels in an organisation
  • Intellectual curiosity and entrepreneurial drive
