The Payments Solution Architecture crew reside in the Payments Service Utility function and its purpose is to deliver excellence to our customers through 99.999% availability, greater agility and reliability.
Comprised of architects, engineers and technology leaders, we're a multi-disciplinary, highly skilled and collaborative crew of experts, committed to delivering world-leading payments experiences for our customers, by leveraging cutting edge technology and transforming the payments landscape at CommBank. Partnering closely with our business and operations colleagues, we lead tech solutioning and design, engineering governance, and continuous delivery across key simplification pillars such as Cloud and Payments Event based architecture, supporting services which are critical to the Australian and Global economy.
Your Impact and Contribution
As a Senior Solution Architect, you will contribute to business-driven projects and programs that expand and enhance offerings for merchant and retail customers. As such, your key contributory role in defining technical solutions for Payments Technology initiatives, and architecting products that meet our Group safe, sound and secure standards. To achieve this, your daily responsibilities may involve:

• Engaging with business and tech leadership communities in ascertaining strategic initiatives, and to consult on solutioning and delivery roadmaps.
• Architecting solutions in line with risk, business and technical objectives.
• Authoring implementation plans and ensuring appropriate documentation.
• Partnering with internal and vendor teams, providing oversight and technical guidance, to support quality, security and timely delivery of project initiatives.
• Utilise strong understanding of core business and technical strategies to deliver best business outcomes.
• Identify and recommend solutions to business or technical problems and support recommendations for endorsement in stakeholder forums.

Your S kills &
Experience

• Tertiary education in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline.
• Experienced in designing, deploying and managing scalable, resilient and high performing systems within complex, hybrid cloud (ideally in AWS) and on-premise, enterprise-grade environments.
• Payment system expertise, including payment processing, gateways, and integration technologies.
• Knowledge of event-driven system technologies such as Apache Kafka, and AWS SNS/SQS.
• Knowledge of domestic and international payment standards and schemes such as:
  ISO20022, Bian Specifications
• Complex problem solving skills and strategic thinking, able to align technical solutions with the Group long-term strategy.
• Comprehensive understanding and adherence to data security principles, including encryption, identity access management and PCI DSS compliance requirements.
• Clear and effective communication skills with experience in collaborating with stakeholders across multiple environments
