About The Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining high-quality software applications with a focus on API development and lifecycle management. You will work closely with the technology and delivery manager to ensure that your projects align with business objectives and are delivered on time.

Key Accountabilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain complex software systems.
  • Develop and maintain technical expertise in areas such as APIs, microservices, cloud computing, and DevOps.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Work with junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Collaborate with architects to design scalable and maintainable software systems.
  • Provide 1st class API design and technical direction for our API products.

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in building enterprise applications.
  • Strong understanding of software development principles, patterns, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java or Kotlin.
  • Experience with API design and implementation using RESTful APIs along with experience in Spring framework.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based technologies such as AWS.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Unit testing experience using frameworks such as JUnit.
  • Understanding of API authentication mechanisms like OAuth2, MTLS, and JWT tokens.
  • A proven track record in designing and delivering APIs as a product.
  • Knowledge of API-first development principles and experience with OpenAPI Specification (OAS)

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of Kong API gateway.
  • Experience with containerization using Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools such as Jenkins and GitHub workflows.
  • Familiarity with GitHub Enterprise and GitHub Actions for automated testing and deployment.
  • Familiarity with relational databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL.
  • Certification in a relevant area such as AWS Associate Certified Developer/Architect.

  • Illustrated continuous innovation and growth in teams and constantly looking for ways to make products better.
  • You'll love to develop, mentor, coach and motivate the engineers and create a can-do culture.
  • You are comfortable code reviewing and being code-reviewed
  • Able to articulate complex technical challenges to technical and non-technical audiences.
