Academic Quality and Standards (AQS) department provides advice and support to Colleges and organisational areas of the University across a number of policy and procedural settings which relate to the Higher Education Standards Framework and the regulatory environment which applies to Vocational Education and Training. AQS has a wide role in the learning and teaching environment at VU, playing a significant role in academic governance through policy development, monitoring, and direct reporting to the Academic Board.

About the Role:

The Quality Partner role will support the Director Academic Quality and Standards and the Chief TAFE Officer to ensure the delivery of TAFE courses offered to Vocational Education students at VU meet regulatory requirements and grow the university's reputation as a dual sector-provider. This position will support the alignment of internal business processes and systems with the requirements of external regulatory agencies.

Examples of the duties you may perform are:

  • Supporting the Director Academic Quality and Standards and Quality Partner in providing strategic advice to VU TAFE, as well as identifying and mitigating risks and finding opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Providing oversight and support to VU TAFE in meeting external and internal regulatory requirements and driving transformational change with the Director of Academic Quality and Standards
  • Supporting Executive Directors to manage professionally accredited courses through the accreditation cycle

This is a full-time position at HEP 9 classification, with salary range of $124,066- $129,080 per annum plus 17% superannuation, classification working 36.75 (1.0 FTE) hours per week over a continuing contract period.

To be considered for this role, you should possess:

  • A deep commitment to improving the experience and outcomes of learners
  • Excellent understanding of Federal and State government legislation and policies related to the vocational education and training sector
  • Enthusiasm for innovation and a practical approach to problem-solving
  • A multi-sector perspective and understanding of VET and Higher Education, informing the development and implementation of initiatives
  • Capacity to drive transformational change with 'built in quality' and continuous improvement strategies
