Our client has an enviable background within our region’s mining history and presents with a global portfolio of operations. They’re now seeking a Senior Project Lead to join their diverse and inclusive team in the Upper Hunter Valley. In these uncertain times – roles like this do not come along every day, and we are looking for the right person now.
Your new role
Working for a team delivering an exciting and dynamic portfolio of capital and operational projects, your role will see you leading others and/or managing directly all front-end and back-end project work. This includes problem framing work, concept design, alternatives evaluation and selection, detail design, risk assessments, construction, fabrication and close out processes. As Senior Project Manager, you will oversee the ongoing modernisation of our complex control network and systems, ensuring smooth progress and completion over the next year. You will also manage projects to support our CHPP in maintaining operational efficiency with ageing equipment that needs to run until planned closure in 2030. You will lead the implementation of critical safety initiatives as part of an Australia-wide fatality elimination program, navigating ambiguity to deliver fit for purpose solutions that make the operation safer.
What you'll need to succeed
As the successful candidate, you’ll have the following:
10+ years’ Project Management experience in the mining / heavy / manufacturing industries
Experience managing projects across their entire life cycle
The ability to lead and manage people, building long-term relationships to meet business requirements
The ability to manage competing priorities and complex organisational environments.
Previous experience preparing/managing the development of technical and project documentation.
A solid understanding of procurement and commercial processes
The ability to monitor and oversee risks, scheduling and costing
You will hold a current NSW Coal Board Medical or be willing to obtain one
Qualifications in project management, civil/mechanical/electrical/electronic engineering, construction management, planning and/or business improvement.
