Seeking a Senior Project Engineer (Electrical) to ensure subcontractor quality, manage costs, identify risks, and drive project planning and quality standards.

Job Description

As a Senior Project Engineer (Electrical) your role will include:

  • Provides positive leadership to subcontractors, monitors and controls their performance and ensures the quality and standard of workmanship performed both on and off site is in accordance with the specifications and relevant procedures

  • Manages cost control for certain aspects of the project in order to ensure the project meets its performance targets in relation to budget

  • Identifies and forecasts risks and opportunities for the project package of works

  • Drives commitment to quality both top down and bottom up

  • Ensures that the appropriate personnel are in place with delegated responsibilities to guarantee quality procedures are integrated

  • Ensures that project team completes all outstanding defects as a matter of priority

  • Ensures implementation of project quality plan

  • Ensures non-conformances are recorded and corrective actions initiated as soon as practically possible

  • Interacts and problem solves with designers and clients to achieve best for project outcomes.

  • Completes all outstanding defects as a matter of priority. Maintain and apply all relevant standards, policies, guidelines and legislative requirements necessary to support responsible decisions and courses of action

  • Manage the operational aspects of project delivery to ensure the effective and efficient use of systems and processes involved with all phases of the project management model

  • Provides input for the preparation of the short, medium- and long-term planning of the program works

  • Reviews the subcontractors construction programme(s) and assists in identifying critical areas and integrates these into the Project programme.

Required Skills and Competencies

Relevant skills and experience:

You will have completed a degree in Civil Engineering with demonstrated experience on Major Construction Projects in the capacity of Senior Project Engineer. Knowledge of engineering project management principles with an in-depth understanding of engineering and site management principles will be essential for this role, as will having a collaborative and innovative approach to solving challenges.
